Introduction to Responsible Beekeeping
Classes are delivered in person in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Each course includes on-line lectures plus hands-on experiences – usually on a Saturday or a Sunday. Class size is limited to 20 participants.

The Course
The instructors for our About Bees courses are Ron Miksha and Linda Symmes. Ron has been a commercial beekeeper, urban hobby beekeeper, bee researcher (University of Calgary), and beekeeping instructor. Ron teaches vocational beekeeping at the Drumheller Correctional Institute, recently was awarded the Teaching Excellence award at the University of Calgary, mentors beekeepers at Tsuut’ina Nation, led the beekeeping workshop at the University of Calgary Vet Medicine Symposium, and is published in American Bee Journal, BeesCene, and Bee Culture. Ron edited the ABee Landing Board Quarterly, has been interviewed by Global, CBC, and CTV regarding bees, and is a frequent beekeeping podcast guest. Linda is an enthusiastic beekeeper with seven years experience and now operating nine colonies! She brings an extra layer of advice and energy to the course. You will totally enjoy this!!
